A local structure plan to guide the redevelopment of the Davis Park Precinct in Beaconsfield has been submitted, and we invite your comments as part of the City’s assessment.
The purpose of this plan is to guide the future redevelopment of the precinct to support new residential and commercial development. The precinct is bounded by South Street (north), Fifth Avenue (east), Lefroy Road (south) and Caesar Street (west) as indicated in the graphic above, and is focused around Davis Park which is located centrally to existing development. The Davis Park precinct also falls within the area of the City’s draft Heart of Beaconsfield Master Plan.
Key aspects of the proposed structure plan include:
A mostly residential precinct, with provision for different types of housing to be developed.
A ‘Mixed Use’ zone along South Street, with provision for retail floor space up to 4,600sqm, as an expansion of the existing Beaconsfield commercial centre to the east.
A new access road off South Street, with a new signalised intersection proposed.
Expanded public open space at Davis Park, the centre of the precinct.
A public access way (pedestrian 'green link') through the southern portion of the precinct to provide access between Davis Park, Doig Place and Lefroy Road.
The existing educational establishment (childcare) to remain.
The Davis Park precinct is located within the City’s draft Heart of Beaconsfield Master Plan area, and this structure plan forms a key part of implementing this important ongoing strategic project.
For further information:
We encourage you to view the full structure plan document, as well as supporting information submitted with the application, available from the document library on this page.
In addition, a summarised information pack is available to view which contains further information on this proposal.
For further queries feel free to contact the City's Strategic Planning Department by phoning 9432 9999 or emailing planning@fremantle.wa.gov.au
All comments received during the consultation period will be reported to Council, who will make a recommendation to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) on whether or not to support the structure plan. The WAPC is the determining authority for all structure plans.
Please note the comment period for this project has now closed.
