On 14 August 2020, the Metro Inner South Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) approved a two storey development containing ten Multiple dwellings (aged and dependent persons dwellings) and a Hospital facility (residential aged care – high care facility), located on the vacant portion of the subject site, in the north west corner. The application also involved the relocation of an existing telecommunications tower on the site onto the proposed building.
On 14 October 2020, the applicant submitted an application to make amendments to the proposal comprising the following:
• The addition of two additional Multiple dwelling units on the upper floor of the building, bringing the total number of dwellings to twelve (12).
• Additional resident and visitor car parking on the ground floor.
• Internal room reconfigurations.
• The addition of a pump room and bicycle parking.
In accordance with the clause 17A of the Development Assessment Panel regulations, the applicant requested that the amended application be determined by the City of Fremantle. This application will be considered by the Joint Development Assessment Panel at their meeting on Friday 14 August 2020 commencing at 9.30 am.
Attending JDAP
The meeting will be held at the City of Fremantle administration building, Fremantle Oval, 70 Parry Street Fremantle. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the meeting in order to sign in. Should you wish to speak at the JDAP meeting, please complete a Presentation Request Form which must be submitted no less than 72 hours before the meeting.

At the Planning Committee meeting on 5 August 2020, the application was approved under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and Local Planning Scheme No. 4, subject to conditions outlined in the responsible authority report. The application will now be referred to the Metro Inner South JDAP, who are the final decision-maker on the application. The date of the JDAP meeting is not known at this time however is usually 1-2 weeks after the Planning Committee meeting.
