Consultation has concluded

The combination play unit in Sir Frederick Samson Park is due for replacement as part of our playground works across the City of Fremantle.

We’re also installing a path between the existing BBQ and picnic table and renewing the worn turf adjacent to the playground fence.

Do you or your family use this play equipment? We’d like your input into the style of upgrade we can achieve for this space.

Attend the drop-in session at the playground Saturday 7 April 2018, anytime between 1.30pm to 3.00pm, or tell us more below before 16 April 2018.

Following the responses received the City has sourced a new combination unit plus extra elements for Samson Park within the budget available. The works are expected to start after the July school holidays and be complete by the end of July 2018. The combination unit includes a slide and climbing elements plus three separate elements include a stepping walker, stepping logs and a tee pee for imaginative play.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Samson Playground Renewal project.

There was a clear preference to use the renewal budget on a smaller combination unit plus some nature play elements (option 2).The project team will work with potential suppliers to obtain quotes and options, with an update provided closer to installation.

The general layout will be available to view at the Greening Samson event on 12 May however the individual pieces won't be finalised by this date.

Preferences for the playground fence are evenly split with several factors involved, therefore it will be left as-is for now. All comments on this project have been recorded and fencing can be re-assessed as improvements happen in the future.
