Salentina Ridge Playground Renewal
Help us select a new playground design for Salentina Ridge Park.
Adjacent to the old Beaconsfield Quarry site, Salentina Ridge Park is a small green space catering for local families and residents. The park currently houses a semi-shaded picnic area on concrete pads with undercover bench seating and BBQ facilities, as well as an unfenced combination playground unit that is over 20 years old.
Every year the City of Fremantle follows a rolling schedule to update playground equipment, with the aim of replacing outdated pieces with new, similar models or upgraded designs. The Projects & Place Team has received capital works funding in the 2024/25 budget to:
- Renew the existing playground facilities at Salentina Park.
- Repair or replace the concrete pad, bench seating and faulty water fountain.
- Repairs to the damaged mosaic artwork may also be feasible as part of the renewal project, but this aspect will be contingent on budget availability and community interest.
The City of Fremantle is committed to seeking community and stakeholder input to ensure the playground replacement meets the needs of the local community. We are asking the public to share their experiences of the current park and playground and suggest focal points where further improvements to amenities could be made if funding becomes available in the future.
How can the community influence the project?
We are asking the public to:
- Find out what is and isn’t being included in the Salentina Ridge Park Play renewal project by exploring the Frequently Asked Questions.
- Share what you currently love about the park and what replacement play designs are most suitable by completing the Salentina Ridge Park Play Renewal Survey.
- View the associated materials, talk to City officers and provide feedback in person at the Salentina Ridge Park drop-in session (details below).
How can you meet with City Officers to discuss the park upgrade and your feedback?
- Attend the drop-in session: Drop-in sessions allow the public to meet with City staff to ask questions about the project, seek clarification and guidance on how to best submit feedback. These are informal sessions that allow the public to come and go during the time period provided. To learn more, visit our How We Engage page here.
