Lookout Park in O'Connor is set for a playground renewal and park upgrades in the 2026/7 financial year. We would love to hear your thoughts about what play elements and playground look and feel appeals to you, as well as how you currently interact with the park.

Lookout Park is a well-loved community recreational space that features formal pathways, seating and picnic areas, lawn areas and a bocce park. The City's Place and Projects Team have received capital works funding to revitalise play equipment and enhance green spaces within Lookout Park. The planned works include new native plantings, scheduled for winter 2026, that will infill existing park garden beds to increase biodiversity.

We’d love your input to help shape a refreshed playground that works for everyone who enjoys the reserve. Your feedback will be reviewed after consultation closes and used to refine the final play design for Lookout Park. Once the design is confirmed, construction of the new playground is planned for early 2027.

The scope of this park project includes:

  • Replacement of the existing play equipment (rope climbing structure, rocker and spinner) which are nearing end of useful life.
  • Increasing native planting in existing garden beds to increase biodiversity.
  • Resurfacing existing bocce playing area with a compacted gravel finish or repurposing the space.

How can the community influence the project?

  • Share what you love, how you currently interact with the park and what play design elements you would like to see by completing the Lookout Park Upgrades Survey.
