We're planning a renewal of Grigg Park in Hilton to make sure it meets the needs of all users.
The combination play unit, swings and basketball hoops and backboards are due for replacement as part of our playground works but we are also looking at the surrounding area.
Final concept
In 2018 we asked for your input into the activities you would like to do, facilities required and the style of replacement play equipment for Grigg Park. Nearly 100 locals contributed to the renewal of Grigg Park. The input was used as the basis for the concept design which maintains the current layout but includes:
New dog bags and bin provided in the north-west corner of the park near the open area.
Replacement drinking fountain including a dog bowl.
A replacement 'traditional' combination play unit including the most popular types of play – sliding and climbing.
New 'nature based' climbing and water play elements that integrate with the feel of the park. Recycled wood has been sourced for these elements.
Extra benches to offer a range of areas to enjoy the park.
New birds nest swing to suit all abilities and ages.
New backboards will be developed through the ‘Project Backboard Fremantle’ initiative involving a local artist and kids via the PCYC.
