There are lots of changes happening in the area bordered by High, Montreal and Stevens Street. This page brings together links to the key projects.

Some of these projects have been initiated because of the Main Roads WA High Street upgrade project. The new High Street road alignment and median have been designed to retain and protect as many of the existing significant trees as possible within the High Street road corridor. To accommodate the roundabout and median, MRWA acquired a portion of the A Class and C Class reserves on the southern side of High Street to rezone as Road Reserve, land that is currently leased by the Fremantle Public Golf Course. There are several components to the remediation, revegetation and replacement works.

The City also undertaking other upgrades in the area. This includes upgrades to Booyeembara Park in line with the existing landscape master plan. Subject to approval, the City has received a cash-in-lieu contribution specifically for this purpose as a condition of subdivision from nearby land.

To protect existing significant trees along the High Street road corridor, MRWA acquired part of the land currently leased by the Fremantle Public Golf Course. As a result, the course required a redesign and upgrade.

The City appointed Aspect Studios to undertake the project, including specialist golf course designer Richard Chamberlain, landscape architect Stuart Pullyblank and project manager Mal Birch.
