Main Roads WA High Street Upgrade
Consultation has concluded
The intersection of High Street and Stirling Highway needs major improvements to make it safer and reduce traffic congestion.
Background
The proposed $118 million High Street Upgrade from Carrington Street to Stirling Highway project is jointly funded by the Australian ($73.62 million) and State ($44.38 million) governments and is part of the road and rail infrastructure package to improve Perth’s transport network.
The initial concept for High Street, released in 2013, is no longer the preferred option. In March 2018 Main Roads WA released a new draft concept plan for the upgrade of High Street.
Main Roads Consultation
The City of Fremantle encourages all who are impacted by or interested in the upgrade of High Street to take part in engagement opportunities during the consultation period.
An updated draft concept was prepared taking into consideration feedback from the community and City of Fremantle, see the August 2018 newsletter for further information.
