Consultation has concluded

The City of Fremantle is inviting comments on a Draft Local Planning Policy 2.20 relating to the Discretion to Vary Local Planning Scheme Sites or Development Requirements for Heritage Purposes.

The draft Local Planning Policy has been developed as a result of recent changes to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations (the Regulations) which now provide Local Governments with the ability to exercise discretionary power to vary any site or development requirement specified in the Scheme in order to achieve one or more of the heritage purposes outlined within the Regulations.

The draft Local Planning Policy has been designed to provide suitable guidance to applicants and decision makers in a form that is relevant to the planning and heritage issues in the City of Fremantle, to support a consistent and transparent approach to decision making.

Please refer to the draft Local Planning Policy in the document library below.

If you have any comment that you wish to make on the proposed amendment, please notify the Chief Executive Officer before the close of the advertising period on 6 June 2016.
