Plane Tree Grove Playground Renewal
Plane Tree Grove Reserve in O'Connor is getting a play refresh - share your feedback on the 5 design options and help us determine the community favourite!
The City's Projects & Place Team has received capital works funding in the 2025/26 budget to upgrade play equipment at Plane Tree Grove to better serve its local community.
Five exciting playground concept designs have been created for feedback from the community. We want your input to help ensure the refreshed playground meets the needs of all those who enjoy the reserve. Once public consultation has ended and community feedback compiled, a winning design will be announced, with delivery scheduled for installation within the 2025/26 financial year.
Nestled on Cottonwood Place and shaded by mature trees, Plane Tree Grove Reserve in O'Connor is a hidden neighbourhood gem. Ringed by rows of leafy London Plane trees, the area was once home to Taylor's College, a thriving educational institution that operated during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Today, part of the former campus has been thoughtfully reimagined as a local park that offers a tranquil setting for casual gatherings and outdoor fun, and includes a children's playground, picnic tables and a barbecue area.
The scope of this park project includes:
- Replacement of the existing swing and playground equipment at Plane Tree Grove, which is at end of life.
How can the community influence the project?
We are asking the public to:
- Learn more about what is planned by exploring the Frequently Asked Questions and explainer documents listed below.
- Select your preferred option from 5 potential designs of the playground.
- Share what you currently love about the park and what replacement play design concept is most suitable by completing the Plane Tree Grove Play Renewal Survey.
