A group of Austrian workmen arriving at Fremantle aboard the Ugolino Vivaldi. Over 240 Austrian tradesmen arrived in Fremantle in 1951 to build prefabricated houses. They were selected by Thermobau of Austria and had to sign a two year contract with the State Housing Commission. Taken 10 June 1951. Image sourced from the Fremantle Library Local History Collection.
