Consultation has concluded
We're proposing some changes to McCabe Street and Tasker Place to slow traffic, improve safety and enhance the streetscape.
The original traffic calming solution proposed included:
A raised platform with contrasting asphalt treatment at the intersection of McCabe Street and Tasker Place, to help slow vehicles as they enter the intersection.
Subject to further investigation, a blister island added near the McCabe Street and Stirling Highway intersection to slow cars entering from Stirling Highway; and
Explore improving the verge area along McCabe Street from Stirling Highway to Tasker Place.
Council decision
At their meeting on Wednesday 27 February Council approved installation of the platform (plateau) and associated drainage works. Traffic monitoring will be undertaken to measure the success of the platform. You can read the Council minutes here.
