Fig tree wood is relatively soft and due to its fibrous nature and high
sap levels can be difficult (but not impossible) to use for carving or wood
working purposes. Please bear this in mind when submitting your EOI.
Any individual or community group can apply although preference will be
given to individuals and groups within the Fremantle area. Preference will also be given to proposals
which have some level of artistic merit or community benefit, as opposed to
uses of a commercial nature.
No. You will need to make arrangements to pick-up the wood using your
own transport and at your own expense. We expect the wood will be available
either on-site from Kings Square or at a location nearby.
An internal panel made up of City officers will assess the EOI’s and
make a decision on how the wood is allocated and to whom. The panel’s decision
will be final.
