Consultation has concluded

The City of Fremantle has recently revised our Parklet Policy. Prior to its final adoption, we are seeking feedback from community members and business owners.

Parklets are small public parks set into the existing streetscape. A Parklet repurposes part of the street into a public space for people and enhances the streetscape by adding interest and amenity.

They are for anyone to use, providing a place to rest, eat or work. They provide simple amenities like shade, bike parking and seating. They help local businesses by encouraging people to linger longer and are a point of interest in the community for residents and visitors to experience.

The purpose of our Parklet Policy is to provide a framework for assessing the suitability of the road reserve, for proposals for the installation of parklets within the road reserve and the objective is to enhance the interest, amenity and vitality of parts of the City by encouraging temporary, well designed, safe and functional parklets in compatible public spaces.

To have your say on the revised Parklet Policy, please complete the below online submission form. Alternatively, you can contact Daniel Sharpe - Engineering Projects Officer on info@fremantle.wa.gov.au or 1300 MY FREO (1300 693 736).

Feedback is invited until Wednesday, 16 November 2022.
