What is the proposed solution?

The City of Fremantle is proposing to implement 2 hour time restrictions on Tuckfield and portions of Burt, Skinner and Finnerty Streets. All residents in the precinct will become eligible for parking permits that allow them to park beyond the time restriction.

How will the proposed solution benefit residents?

We believe the proposed solution will benefit residents by:

Why not make the area resident only parking?

The intent of this proposal is to apply similar restrictions for all residential streets within the precinct. Resident only parking would prevent visitors to your home from parking on your street (unless you have applied for a visitor permit in advance). It is difficult to manage and does not provide the best outcome for the community.

How can residents submit a comment on the proposed solution?

Residents can submit a YES or NO response to the proposed solution in the following ways:

    • Comment online through a survey setup on the City’s MySay portal
    • Submit a hard-copy survey and send to the City
    • Submit a written response FOR or AGAINST the proposal to the City’s Community Engagement team at communityengagement@fremantle.wa.gov.au.

When will the proposed changes take effect?

Should residents submit a majority of YES comments on the proposed solution the City will aim to deliver changes with the following high-level timeline:

    • May-June – Survey is live for residents to comment on the proposal.
    • July-August – Finalise results and present to Council. Notify residents of engagement outcomes.
    • September-October – Residents start applying for permits and changes are implemented on the ground (signage/monitoring etc.).
