Fremantle Council has voted to initiate an amendment to the City of Fremantle Parking Local Law.

The purpose of the amendment is to amend the City of Fremantle Parking Local Law 2021 consistent with the undertakings provided to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation and for further correction and clarification.

The background to this amendment stems from the Councils adoption of the City's Parking Local Law 2021 on 28 July 2021 which came in to effect on 20 September 2021.

Following the laws adoption, the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Authority (JSCDL) requested that the Council agree to undertake amendments to the local law.

These amendments were reviewed at the Ordinary Council Meetings held on 24 November 2021 and the 19 January 2022. Council adopted the motions put forward by the JSCDL, a full list of the amendments and the relevant Council minutes can be found here.

City Officers have also taken the opportunity to review the local law and to recommend additional amendments to aid clarification, amend the schedule of penalties and correct any typographical errors.

Please review the amendments and provide your comments by using our electronic submission form below. Submissions are welcomed from the public until Monday 1 August 2022 (as per the Local Government Act 1995 requirements).

Please share your thoughts on the proposed amendments by 5:00pm Monday 1 August 2022.
