Consultation has concluded
The Clontarf Road Local Planning Policy has been adopted. For a copy of the policy please see here.
The City of Fremantle has drafted a local planning policy for an area of Clontarf Road that includes four properties as shown in the plan above. The addresses for the four properties are:
No. 2 (lots 72 and 100) Clontarf Road, Beaconsfield
No. 4 (lot 25) Clontarf Road, Beaconsfield and
No. 1 (lot 73) Naylor Street, Beaconsfield
The sites subject to this policy are in the Strang Street redevelopment area. These sites already have the potential to develop into residential apartments under the City’s local planning scheme.
Why is this being proposed?
The purpose of this draft local planning policy is to provide guidance when assessing redevelopment of these sites to promote high quality design outcomes. Under the draft policy, subdivision or development applications will have to demonstrate they address specific design aspects to integrate with the surrounding urban area and landscape features.
The draft policy will not change the zoning, height or density requirements for the area.
Further information on the design outcomes and draft policy can be found here.
The report to council on the draft policy dated 25 January 2107 is available here.
