The application was refused by the Metro South-West JDAP at its meeting on 29 January 2019.

The City of Fremantle has received a development proposal for the addition of a five storey aged care assisted living facility to an existing Retirement Village complex.


What's proposed?

The proposed development includes the addition of a five storey aged care assisted living facility to an existing Retirement Village complex. The facility is designed to provide a middle tier of care (i.e. between the self-care units of the retirement village and high care, hospital style beds).

Once the public comment period has concluded, all submissions will be reviewed by the assessing officer who will prepare a report to the Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP). The City's Planning Committee will consider the report before it is referred to the JDAP. All submitters will be notified of the Planning Committee and JDAP meeting dates.


Submissions close 5.00pm Wednesday 21 November 2018.

    At the meeting on 5 December 2018 Committee voted to refuse the DAP Application as the development does not meet the minimum or average site area requirements of the Residential Design Codes. It will now be referred to JDAP. You can view the minutes here.
