Consultation has concluded

A development application to establish a boutique craft distillery in Fremantle's west end is available for public comment until 30 May 2018.


What's proposed?

  • The application proposes to refurbish the existing heritage-listed building and establish a hospitality venue and a craft distillery.
  • The new use (tavern) will be incorporated within the existing building envelope with minor roof alterations.
  • The proposed hospitality venue would be able to seat up to 200 people.
  • It's anticipated the venue will be open for lunch and dinner between 11 am and 12 midnight, 5 days a week. Saturday and Sunday the venue will open at 9am to allow for distillery tours and close at 12 midnight. The distillery will operate during normal business hours.

How do I make a submission?

Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the proposal is supported or opposed.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for the City to consider your submission and notify you of the opportunity to attend Planning Committee and Council meetings.

What are the next steps?

Once the public comment period has concluded, all submissions will be reviewed by the assessing officer and report prepared with a recommendation to the City's Planning Committee. The committee will consider the application at an upcoming meeting. All submitter's will be informed of the meeting date.
