Plans approved
The five storey addition and change of use to tourist accommodation for 18 - 22 Adelaide Street, Fremantle was approved by the Planning Committee on 5 July. The minutes of the Planning Committee meeting are available here.
Amended plans before Planning Committee in July
Revised plans have been submitted by the applicant and will be considered by the Planning Committee on 5 July. The amended application has been recommended for conditional approval.

Decision postponed
A decision by council on the amended plans for 18-22 Adelaide Street has been deferred to the ordinary council meeting on 28 June 2017.
The decison was postponed to allow for:
- A better understanding of the front finishes and pergola structures.
- Further examine opportunities to reduce the impact on the Woodsons building.
Amended plans to be presented to Planning Committee in June
Amended plans have been submitted by the applicant and will be considered by the Planning Committee on 7 June 2016. The amended application is recommended for conditional approval.
The amended plans show the following changes :
- setback of the fourth storey has been reduced by 0.25m to 4.25m.
- setback of the fifth storey has been increased by 4.45m to 8.95m.
- rear setback of the fifth storey has been increased by 1.5m to 3.5m.
- Proposed construction of balconies to the upper floors.
- Colour and design changes have been proposed to the north-east elevation of the building façade.

Application deferred by Planning Committee
A decision by Planning Committee was deferred on 11 January in order for the applicant to submit amended plans that make the development more consistent with the height of adjoining buildings and to allow for further review by the Design Advisory Committee. The Committee also requested the applicant consider the impact of the proposed development on the amenity of adjoining properties and presentation to the Kings Square public realm. The application will be reconsidered at the next suitable Planning Committee meeting.
