Report before Planning Committee and JDAP in June

The City of Fremantle Planning Committee will consider the development on Wednesday 6 June 2018 at 6.00pm. A copy of the committee report is available on the City of Fremantle website.

The development is recommended for conditional approval.

Members of the public are invited to attend this meeting, which will be held at the North Fremantle Community Hall. Once this report has been presented to the Planning Committee, the proposal will be considered by the Joint Development Assessemnt Panel (JDAP) on 21 June.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed development plans for 26 Parry Street. The applicant has amended the plans. The City's report to JDAP is expected to be reviewed by the Planning Committee in June.


What's proposed?

A four storey mixed-use building comprising a cafe, tourist accommodation and apartments.

The following discretionary assessments are included:

  • Increased (R60) density
  • Plot ratio
  • Wall height
  • On-site car parking
  • Lot boundary setbacks – east and south
  • Visual privacy – northeast
  • Open space

What are the next steps?

Once the public comment period has concluded, all submissions will be reviewed by the assessing officer who will prepare a report to the Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP). The City's Planning Committee will consider the report and submissions before the application is decided by JDAP. All submitters will be notified of the committee and JDAP meeting dates.
