Over the past 12 months, City officers conducted an extensive engagement program called Safe and Functional Streets. The program collaborated directly with residents across Fremantle to better understand the types of road safety and traffic calming solutions the community preferred, as well as updating our council policies to meet the community’s needs. The popular engagement program highlighted the need for a city-wide education program to encourage slower driving alongside physical local road interventions, as well as informing the adopted Council Policies below:

• Traffic Calming Policy (Council Item: FPOL2306-6)
• Narrow Streets, Safe Access Policy (Council Item: FPOL2306-5)
