Consultation has concluded

The City of Fremantle is proposing owners leash their dog when walking through bushland in Samson Park. The proposal is part of a range of management practices to protect, enhance and regenerate the bushland for the future.

Under the proposed change to the Dog Exercise and Prohibited Areas Policy, dogs will still be permitted in the bushland at Samson Park providing they are on a leash, and the central grassed area will remain a dog off-leash exercise area.

The purpose of the proposed change is to improve the balance between bushland conservation and the impact of recreational activities in the park , including dog walking.

We invite you to comment on the proposed change to the policy and tell us what you value most about Samson Park. Your feedback will contribute to a recommendation on the dog policy, which is expected to be presented to council for consideration in October 2018, and guide future bushland conservation.
