Consultation has concluded

How can we make Fremantle greener?

With challenges such as climate change, urban infill and a growing population, planning for green spaces requires careful consideration.

The City of Fremantle has prepared a new strategy to guide future planning for:
  • public open space.
  • alternative uses to public land, such as street verges and unused road reserves.
  • creating a cooler urban environment.
  • protecting trees and vegetation on private land.
  • protecting our unique natural landscape and biodiversity.
  • water security.
The draft 2020 Green Plan has been informed by research undertaken by members of the Green Plan Working Group and the community responses and feedback we received in the first stage of consultation.

Over the next six weeks, we invite you to find out more about the key focus areas for the new plan and the proposed actions to green Fremantle. You can send us your feedback by:

The draft 2020 Green Plan is available for comment until 11 November 2015.
