The City of Fremantle is about to begin a fresh chapter with the opening of the new City Library at the Walyalup Civic Centre.
This state of the art facility in the heart of Fremantle offers an onsite collection of more than 20,000 items, as well as access to thousands of eBooks, digital resources and the City’s Local History Collection. Programs on offer include learning and recreational activities for people of all ages and interests, free access to computers, Wi-Fi services and lots of comfortable places to relax, work, study or connect with friends.
As we begin anew the library service is developing a 5-year plan to guide its continuing evolution to be the best library we can be for our community. The plan will outline:
the library’s place in today’s society and a world moving beyond COVID challenges
the opportunities and benefits the library offers to people right across our community
our vision for the future of the library
our priorities and key actions over the next 5 years – both in serving the Fremantle community and as part of the wider network of public library services across the state.
Have your say!
Whether you are a library user or not, we invite you to share your ideas on the future priorities for the Fremantle Library.
Please ensure that any comments are lodged by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 8 December 2021.
