Beaconsfield Primary School has worked with Your Move / Department of Transport to create the “Safe Routes to School Access Guide.”

Douro Road is designated as one of the school routes, including the busy intersection with Chester Street and falls within the project area and proposed works that seek to increase pedestrian, cyclist and driver safety. Discussions with the school community and the City staff were an important factor in deciding where and how to implement traffic calming on Douro Road.
