The application was conditionally approved by the Metro South-West JDAP at its meeting on 23 January 2018.
A development application for partial demolition of the Manning Buildings, alterations to existing office and shop buildings and the addition of a tavern has been proposed.
Joint Development Assessment Panel approval granted
The Metropolitan South West Joint Development Assessment Panel approved the development application for the Manning Buildings on 23 January 2018.
Planning committee considered the report to JDAP on 10 January 2018. The City’s report, which recommends the proposl be approved, will now be provided to the South West Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP), who will have the final say on the proposal.
What's proposed?
The development proposal for the heritage buildings on Market Street, High Street Mall and William Street includes:
Restoration of original shopfronts and facades along High Street and Market Streets.
Internal alterations and conservation works to the upper floor offices and ground floor shops.
Partial demolition of some existing buildings at the rear of site.
Addition of two storey offices off Paddy Troy Mall.
Addition of a new building for a brewhouse, bar and restaurant at the rear of the existing buildings on William Street, including an undercroft carpark with 25 car bays.
