Forum Outcomes Uploaded
The Freo Today forum was an opportunity to bring together the community, service organisations, government, businesses and those with an interest to share the services already operating and identify future priorities together. The forum had a focus on the city centre community. The outcomes of the forum are now online.
The overarching key challenge identified by attendees (both in groups and individual) was perception, communication and access to information – the need to address incorrect perceptions around crime and safety, promote positive stories and communicate information clearly.
Several other challenges were identified and can be found in the report. A range of items have already been actioned or are in progress. They focus around:
- communication
- youth
- planning, built environment & place management
- anti-social behaviour and petty theft
- mental health.
The forum was attended by 42 people with individual feedback captured on the night positive.
Following engagement with Fremantle suburbs in February and March 2019 (both online and in person) the City of Fremantle will be developing a Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan 2019 – 2023.
