Consultation has concluded
Fremantle Council has voted to initiate an amendment to the City of Fremantle Cat Management Local Law.
In response to undertakings recommended by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the Council have adopted to amend the Cat Management Local Law, to prohibit Cats from all ‘green areas’ owned or managed by the City of Fremantle.
The amendment is to amend schedule 3 of the City of Fremantle Cat Management Local Law 2020, to include all of the City’s ‘green’ areas as prohibited areas.
Please provide your comments on the proposed amendment by using our electronic submission form below. Submissions are welcomed from the public until 5.00pm Monday, 8 May 2023 (as per the Local Government Act 1995 requirements).

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 22 March 2023, Council adopted an amendment to the Cat Management Local Law. Minutes for the meeting are available here.

Purpose: To amend the City of Fremantle Cat Management Local Law 2020 consistent with the undertakings provided to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation, with inclusion of additional cat prohibited areas.
Effect: To amend schedule 3 of the City of Fremantle Cat Management Local Law 2020, to include all of the City’s ‘green’ areas.
