Consultation has concluded
The City of Fremantle is proposing to close off a section of Market Street, from Nairn Street to South Terrace. The vision for the Market Street Piazza is to be a hidden gem just a few steps away from the popular Cappuccino Strip.
The objective is to create a public piazza that provides an attractive safe walking environment for the community. Collaboration between nearby local businesses and the Fremantle Business Improvement District (BID) will further enhance the space and create a people-orientated place.

Following the outcome of consultation process, the street closure trial is proposed for the end of January until July 2016. Subject to the result of this six month period, a permanent closure could be implemented thereafter.
