What is the purpose of the community information session?
Members of the City’s planning team will be available to assist you interpret the plans that will be on display and to answer any questions you may have. The session is informal and designed to allow you to drop in and find out more about what has been proposed for the site. Elected members and the applicant have also been invited.
The proposed plans are available for download from the document library on this page or can be viewed at the City’s customer service centre located at 8 William Street, Fremantle from 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Development Assessment Panels (DAP) determine large planning applications of a certain type and value threshold.
Each DAP consists of five panel members, including three specialist members and two local government councillors. The make-up of members is designed to enhance planning expertise in decision making by improving the balance between technical advice and local knowledge.
There are two different types of DAPS - Local Development Assessment Panels - which service a single, high-growth local government area with lots of development activity - and Joint Development Assessment Panels (JDAPs) - which service two or more local governments.
There are eight JDAPs in Western Australia. The panel servicing the Fremantle local government area is called the Metro South West JDAP.
